Immunization Series Part II - Adult Immunizations

Objectives:

  • Identify recent updates to CDC and ACIP adult immunization recommendations, including newly approved vaccines and expanded indications.
  • Apply current adult immunization schedules to assess vaccine needs in routine and special populations encountered in health-system practice.
  • Incorporate updated immunization guidance into pharmacy practice to improve vaccine delivery, documentation, and reduction of vaccine-preventable disease in adults.

The Life of a Transcatheter Valve Replacement: Antithrombotic Pharmacotherapy

 

Objectives:

1.        Review cardiac valve anatomy and types of valvular heart disease.

2.        Describe general procedural information and indications for transcatheter valve replacements.

3.        Compare the differences in transcatheter valve replacement approaches based on the location of the valve.

4.        Contrast approaches to antithrombotic pharmacotherapy for patients who undergo transcatheter valve replacements versus traditional surgical valve replacements.
