Objectives for Pharmacists

1. Describe the epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, and clinical presentation of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia
2. Discuss current recommendations for the treatment and prophylaxis of Pneumocystis jirovecii infections
3. Compare Pneumocystis jirovecii infections in patients with HIV and other immunocompromising conditions
4. Examine emerging literature for alternate therapeutic modalities and clinical outcomes in patients at risk for Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia

Objectives for Pharmacy Technicians

1. Describe the epidemiology, risk factors, diagnosis, and clinical presentation of Pneumocystis jirovecii pneumonia
2. List current recommendations for the treatment and prophylaxis of Pneumocystis jirovecii infections

Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event.  The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days.
