- - Utilize clinical pearls for use of GLP-1 or dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists
Pharmacy Technician Objectives:
Describe the role of GLP-1 and GIP hormones in glucose regulation and appetite control, and identify medications that mimic these hormones.
List FDA-approved indications for GLP-1 receptor agonists and dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists (e.g., diabetes, weight management).
Recognize commonly used GLP-1 and GLP-1/GIP agents and match them with their primary indications and dosage forms.
Summarize key findings from clinical studies supporting the use of GLP-1 and dual GLP-1/GIP receptor agonists in approved indications.
Identify emerging therapies, including multi-agonist receptor agents, and describe their potential future uses in patient care.
