Pharmacist Objectives:
• Describe the proposed pathophysiologic mechanisms and common antimicrobial agents associated with antibiotic-induced neurotoxicity.
- Identify patient-specific risk factors and clinically significant drug interactions that increase the risk of antibiotic-induced neurotoxicity.
• Apply appropriate monitoring and management strategies to prevent, detect, and mitigate harm in clinical practice.
Pharmacy Technician Objectives:
• Describe the proposed pathophysiologic mechanisms and common antimicrobial agents associated with antibiotic-induced neurotoxicity.
• List patient-specific risk factors and clinically significant drug interactions that increase the risk of antibiotic-induced neurotoxicity
This is a knowledge based activity. This activity was planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who practice in any setting.
Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event. Please know that if accurate e-Profile information is not provided within 60 days of the event, credit cannot be claimed after that time. The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days. Participants must participate completely in the activity and complete the course evaluation in its entirety to claim continuing pharmacy education credit.
