    Dear GSHP Members,

The GSHP Board of Directors met virtually on Thursday, January 21st to discuss and carefully consider options for the Spring Meeting scheduled for March 26-28, 2021 in Savannah, Georgia.  In light of on-going and consistent recommendations to limit large gatherings from the Centers for Disease Control and other public health officials, as well as travel restrictions imposed at many of our institutions, the Board decided to refrain from attempting an in-person event at this time.  We will continue to evaluate the ever-changing environment and will plan to resume live meetings when possible.

We are pleased to announce that we will be offering a Spring education mini-series centered on the Covid-19 vaccine to include vaccine information, panel discussions, and focus on vaccine hesitancy.  In addition, we will continue to provide free CE webinars, networking calls, and other virtual activities to support our membership as well as our vendor sponsors.  I would like to thank our innovative and amazing education committee, under the leadership of Lindsay Schaack Rothstein and Brittany Wheeler, for their continued efforts to provide valuable programming.   The commitment and dedication of the GSHP membership is a constant source of inspiration as we continue to find new ways to learn, new ways to grow, and new ways to come together in this difficult and challenging time.

Thank you for your support.  Be safe and stay well.

    Susan Jackson

The ASHP House of Delegates is the ultimate authority over ASHP professional policies, which express the Society's stance on important issues related to health-system pharmacy practice and medication use in society.

Georgia has three delegates who represent our state in the ASHP policy development proceess.

ASHP pharmacist members in Georgia were emailed a ballot on 1/7/2021.

Please note that voting will close on January 21, 2021 and the three (3) candidate receiving the most votes will be elected. A simple majority is required for election.

GSHP's mission is to help our members become better practitioners.  We work towards fulfilling our mission every year through education of our members via district meetings, statewide meetings, newsletters, and our website; fostering professional standards; educating the public about the role of health system pharmacists; monitoring legislative issues that affect pharmacy; and by promoting health system pharmacy as a career path for future pharmacists.  The majority of our Society's work is done by member volunteers working through our committees.  You can play a vital role by serving on one of our committees.

    1.    What will you get out of it?

An opportunity to make yourself known by networking with other pharmacy leaders across the state and to give back to our profession.  In addition, it provides a venue for you to bring new ideas to the organization.

    2.      What is your commitment?

It can be as little as giving your input during our upcoming virtual Committee Day on Saturday, January 9, 2021, participating in conference calls, or taking on specific assignments depending on your interests and time.

GSHP has a variety of committees to meet your interests.  The following is a description of the functions of each committee.  If you are interested in serving on a committee for GSHP, please complete the link below:
