Pharmacist Objectives: 

• Explain the definition, epidemiology, transmission, diagnosis, risk factors, clinical manifestations, and severity categories of COVID-19
• Differentiate between IDSA recommended management options based on mechanism of action, clinical indication, approved patient population, route of administration, and timing and duration of therapy
• Discuss the 2024 authorization for emergency use of Pemgarda by the FDA for pre-exposure prophylaxis.
• Describe the role of updated mRNA COVID-19 vaccines in providing protection against emerging variants and eligibility recommendations

Technician Objectives:

• Recite the definition, epidemiology, transmission, diagnosis, risk factors, clinical manifestations, and severity categories of COVID-19

This is a knowledge based activity.  This activity was planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who practice in any setting.

Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education.   Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event.  Please know that if accurate e-Profile information is not provided within 60 days of the event, credit cannot be claimed after that time.  The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days. Participants must participate in the activity and complete the course evaluation in its entirety to claim continuing pharmacy education credit.
