Objectives for Pharmacists
1. Describe the epidemiology, consequences and neurophysiology of alcohol dependence and withdrawal
2. Discuss pharmacotherapy strategies for the management of alcohol withdrawal syndrome
3. Assess the literature examining the use of phenobarbital for alcohol withdrawal syndrome
4. Outline the practical considerations of phenobarbital use including dosing, monitoring, drug interactions, and adverse drug events

Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event. The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days.
