Objectives for pharmacists
- 1. Describe high-risk neuroblastoma, including epidemiology, pathophysiology, risk stratification, and standard treatment approaches
- 2. Explain the mechanism of action of anti-GD2 immunotherapies, dinutuximab and naxitamab
- 3. Evaluate the current literature for dinutuximab and naxitamab in pediatric patients with relapsed/refractory neuroblastoma, and discuss future directions of immunotherapy in frontline treatment
- 4. Analyze toxicity management of anti-GD2 therapy in pediatric patients
Objectives for pharmacy technicians
- 1. Describe the key features of high-risk neuroblastoma and standard treatment approaches
- 2. Explain the mechanism of action of anti-GD2 immunotherapies, dinutuximab and naxitamab
- 3. Identify common toxicities of anti-GD2 therapy and explain expected side effects and supportive care measures to patients and families
This is a knowledge based activity. This activity was planned to meet the educational needs of pharmacists and pharmacy technicians who practice in any setting.
Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1.0 contact hours (0.10 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event. Please know that if accurate e-Profile information is not provided within 60 days of the event, credit cannot be claimed after that time. The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days. Participants must participate completely in the activity and complete the course evaluation in its entirety to claim continuing pharmacy education credit.
