Objectives for Pharmacists

• 1.    Discuss the mechanisms of action and clinical uses of recently approved antihyperglycemic agents.
• 2.    Discuss recently approved antihyperglycemic agents and describe updated medication options for Type I & II diabetes.
• 3.    List common adverse events, precautions, and warnings for antihyperglycemic agents discussed.
• 4.    Develop a therapeutic plan for patients with type 2 diabetes based on recent recommendations for use of antihyperglycemic agents in patients with type 2 diabetes based on key patient- and drug-related factors.

Georgia Society of Health-System Pharmacists is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. Participants of the session who complete the evaluation and provide accurate NABP e-Profile information will have their credit for 1 contact hour (0.1 CEU) submitted to CPE Monitor as early as 1 day after the event and no later than 60 days after the event.  The participant is accountable for verifying the accurate posting of CE credit to their CPE Monitor account within 60 days.
