This is your opportunity to share your results with pharmacy colleagues from around Georgia at the 2023 GSHP Spring Poster Session on Saturday, March 25, 2023 during the 2023 GSHP Spring Meeting. Posters highlighting innovative services, evaluations, and pharmacy practice model change initiatives are especially encouraged. Encore presentations from national meetings (ASHP, ACCP, etc.) are accepted. Presenting a peer-reviewed poster is an ideal professional development activity for preceptors, both seasoned and new practitioners, residents, and students. The primary (first) poster presenter must be a GSHP member and results must be included on abstract to be accepted. Research-in-progress abstracts with background and methods only will not be accepted.  Pharmacy students and residents are especially encouraged to participate. Pharmacy technicians are considered practitioners and are also encouraged to submit.

The GSHP Education Committee will be evaluating ALL abstracts submitted for recognition and designation as "Outstanding GSHP Poster". All accepted submissions will present in person at the 2023 GSHP Spring Meeting on Saturday, March 25, 2023. The top 5 student, resident, and practitioner abstracts will be selected for live poster judging at the GSHP Spring Meeting on Saturday, March 25, 2023. There will be three categories recognized: 1) Best Pharmacy Student Poster; 2) Best Pharmacy Resident Poster; 3) Best Pharmacy Practitioner Poster; based on the credentials of the primary (first) author. One student, one resident, and one practitioner poster will each win an award based on the highest combined abstract and poster scores. Winners will each receive a plaque and a cash prize.

The deadline for submission of abstracts is at 5pm on Friday, February 17, 2023. Submit your poster abstract using the following link: https://forms.gle/ZVKVLk5XaqU3BHhk9. For questions, contact Meredith Lopez, GSHP Poster Session Coordinator, at merlopez@augusta.edu

Each abstract submission must be submitted using the above link and contain the following:

    • Author information (include full name, professional credentials, institutional affiliation (i.e., health care organization or college name), and email address for corresponding author/presenter)
    • Brief descriptive title (use sentence case)
    • Abstract body
      • Purpose (max 100 words)
      • Methods (max 225 words)
      • Results (max 200 words)
      • Conclusions (max 100 words)
    • Do not include tables, graphs, or illustrations in abstract.  Spell out all pharmaceutical acronyms.
    • Specify a submission type (student vs resident vs practitioner), which should be based on primary author’s credentials
    • Specify a primary submission category
    • Primary author must be an active GSHP member

NOMINATION AND ELECTION OF GEORGIA DELEGATES TO THE ASHP HOUSE OF DELEGATES

All pharmacist ASHP members in Georgia are eligible to nominate, be nominated, and vote for delegates and alternates to represent Georgia at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) 2023 House of Delegates.

Individuals wishing to nominate themselves or another ASHP member for the slate of candidates are invited to submit names by December 16, 2022, to: https://forms.gle/ReaqC93jYYrhRbMS6

Three (3) delegates and up to three (3) alternate delegates will be elected for a one (1) year term.

    Duties of Delegates

The Chair of the House of Delegates will conduct a welcome webinar in late February or early March to provide new and returning delegates with an overview of service requirements before participating in the March 2023 virtual House of Delegates. The Chair also regularly communicates with delegates through email messages to alert delegates to upcoming action items.

Regional Delegate Conferences are scheduled April 29-May 2, 2023 and it is recommended that delegates attend one of these sessions.

The House of Delegates will meet on two separate occasions at the 2023 ASHP Summer Meetings, scheduled to be held June 10-14 in Baltimore, MD.

Additional virtual House of Delegates may be held in May 2023 and November 2023 and/or at additional times, as deemed necessary.

Resources to Help Serve as a Delegate

Please review the ASHP House of Delegates webpage for more information on delegate responsibilities.

The three candidates receiving the most votes will become delegates, with the remainder being elected as alternates.  A simple majority is required for election.
